BlackBird to Pansat 2500a

Since I am having problems updating my Pansat w/ my PC. I was wondering if I could get my friends BlackBird receiver and do a "receiver to receiver" transfer to my Pansat? I now know about the null/ twisted cable and understand it. I was really wondering if the 2 receiver have to be the same brand. This of course will be my last resort.

no. The receivers are completely different and do not use the same s/w. Find a rs232c straight cable and download your s/w from your pc to your pansat. Now if you had access to another 2500 it would work using the "cross cable".
