Hi everyone. I would like to know where the jtag pins are located on the top of the board for the 5900 pvr and which jtag I should use, E-jtag 31 or a quad mode jtag? Do I need to remove the harddrive to find it? Also, will Atmega 128 work on this receiver? A picture would be good if possible.
Thanks for any help

Some 510/5900 have no jtag port per se, you'll have to solder directly to the board in sevearl different locations. There is a pic posted in receivers forum.

If your 5900 has no visible Jtag pads then follow the instructions in the guide below.

I have a 5900 reg 011
one of the first 5900's
will this have the jtag ports, or will I have to solder?

Prolly has the port, I have a couple older ones with the port.

it will be on the bottom right?
is there a diagram that will show me where to cut, or do I have to take it apart?
