Is a dishnet 2700 ird any good to test with? Bottom jtag? And is it as good or better than a 310.010? What about rough ebay cost? Thanks

Im using a 2700....yes it has a jtag cutout on the bottom, the 301 is newer and a rough ebay cost is about 50 bucks...The 2700 is a good introducting to testing.

2700 might well be the best for noob testing. They're rock solid, and take well to simple as well as buffered jtagging. They emulate well, digital lock well , and take provider changes well too.On the down side, they're slower than the larger tsop models, and not as feature laden. I love them.

Slow? How slow is slow? I can change channels on my 010 and take a crap before it changes, well almost anyhow.

I've never seen a slow 301/3100. Comparable in speed to good old DTV units.2700's are half as fast.
