3900, rom 10, sat around for a few weeks when i was told it stopped working. it was locked up, i erased sa 30 still locked, i erased entire mem, changed ird/boxkeys on a public dump, but still the same, it won't search for signal, it shows no activity on signal strenth. I can go through menus, but nothing will work, like trying to check switch, it just does nothing, any advice?

Create a virgin EEPROM image and flash that on.

FlashEdit is what you need. It can be downloaded from here:

http://www.dssftp.com/filedownload/generate_php/echostar__files.php

Just do a search on the page for FlashEdit.

You'll need a copy of your TSOP to do this. Just load the TSOP dump w/FlashEdit, click the Open button then click the Save As button and choose Virgin EEPROM. It will ask you where you want to save it too and what you want to name it. Then just use JKeys to put the new virgin EEPROM on your receiver.

The eprom is A LOT smaller than the tsop. It's only 2kb, as opposed to the 2Mb tsop. I'm the one that uploaded the latest CLJA P232 image to the tsop bank, so I can say for sure it's a good image.

ok, then i must be doing something wrong, i'm good with nagra, and erasing to fix a ECM, but this may be more than i know right now, so i need to learn, i've looked for how to tsop files, and only find what i already know, here is what i did, i treied to erase sa30, no help, so erased entire bin from flash mem, followed directions to make a new virgin from a public dump (ifound a CLGA, mine is a CLGD) loaded it to flash and i get nothing now, no power, noda, nuttin, ziltch, help please

CLGD = CLGA The last letter doesn't matter. Did you use flashedit to change the boxkeys and IRD# on the image you downloaded from the tsop bank to match your receiver? Most images will have that info zero'd out to protect the innocent. Sometimes it helps to erase more than once. I usually erase three times prior to restreaming or rewriting tsop. When you have your image open in flashedit, choose save, then select virgin eprom. Flashedit will generate an eprom image based on your tsop image. This is the eprom image you want to flash 2k eprom with. Then write your altered tsop image (2Mb) and restream. There have been complaints about the quality of the 3900 images in the tsop bank and that's why I uploaded the CLJA image. Technically, you should be able to use the image I uploaded even though only the first two letters of the build match yours, but I don't know how cooperative the 3900 is to this. If it was a 310.10, I know for sure only the first two build letters need to match. Try getting it going with the right build before you go experimenting with a slightly off build.

yes, i used flashedit to change all of ird# and boxkeys, nothing else, i saved it (2kb file), i clicked flash programing in jkeys, clicked program, slected the file i created as virgin eeprom, it loaded in a snap, nothing comes on, on the box ( i always erase 3 times), i'll try you dump now

changed number in your dump (JT) now it's on for a minute, and clicks off for 10 seconds, then back on, i can roll through the menus, but nothing works
