View Full Version : Question about wanna_be 6000 JTag guide
I recently picked up a dish 6000, and started doing some reading. But on page 6 of wanna_be 6000 Jtag guide he says to check the motherboards eeprom for some letters and that they should match these build letters, but there aren't any letters on that page.
Does anyone now what letters i'm suppose to be looking for?
Thanks in advance.

Inside the case on the board will be a sticker with 4 letters, such as CNAD. This is the build config and you will use it if you need to make a virgin eeprom using flashedit.

You only need a virgin eeprom if you are switching from DISH to BEV or vice versa. Otherwise jtagging it is the same as any other ird. Dave411 is exactly right.
I'll have to get inside then and get the letters, because i'd like to try and switch from DISH to BEV. Hopefully without letting the smoke out.
Thanks for the help.

I've done it a million times. Let me know if you need help. The only tricky part is doing all the jtagging and flashedit work. Just follow the guide step-by-step.
Thanks livinitup731, i'll PM you if I have any trouble.

You can get the 4 digit build config, by hitting sytem info.
On the sw version line & bs version line, they're the matching four to the far right.
