How many of you are tired of all the BS of buy this and buy that and you can have free TV for a day?! Not trying to come off as a cheese info-mercial, but seriously?!
I mean, I bought a Magic Card from Mili and now I can't find an activation for it and see there are magic 2's now. I am not buying another thing unless it's an Atmega128 chip or 90S2313 Atmel. I came across a file on another site and ran with it until we figured it out. Right now, me and the mod's from that site have sat through a single Atmel2313 without the use of a Max232. Not gonna post a dead thread, so if anyone's interested...reply to this and I'll send all the schematics I have, if my files haven't already found their way into the files section. My PPV rolls with no problem, and I emulate with a 233Mhz laptop and Yvous 3.0...
I got the script's and everything...I will help whoever need's it, as long as you have a little bit of soldering experience and electronics exp.

There is an easy fix for the MC1. Reset the date to 103104, then use 2.2.4 and you
should be fine.
As for the current events, I've purposely kept out of the politics of this situation.
As for the emu part of your post, I'm interested. PM me your emu stuff if you wish. I've been looking for a comprehensive source for what's needed to emulate. I like hardware projects. I'm happiest when I smell solder melting.....
Thanks,

I done a C&P from another forum I am on...there is a readme file inside the package. As far as doing the telephone cable to db9 or making the zener pack, that's up to you. I just have the serial cable drapped out of my 301-010...plus the yvous3.0 with all PPV's up.
Enjoy...
Been up for a month now, no ECM or anything. Had to change my CamID once and only the event PPV went down in that time.
I'll be on and off for the people having trouble. All you need is an HU Unlooper with a removable 2313 to do your flashing.

I know this isn't the FTA forum but it ties in to your subject line. What about this dreambox I'm thinking of buying? You sound like you know more about Charlie and BEV than I do. Would this really provide hassle free Dish Net and BEV viewing? SilverDream (Dreambox) $699
Product Highlights
The SilverDream (Dreambox) is the premium FTA receiver! A few of the best features are:
PVR (Digital Video Recorder) - record tv shows and watch them at a later date. Never worry about missing a show again. All you have to do is plug in a harddrive. (hardrive NOT included)
HDTV Compatible - yes that's right, it will work with HDTV's and you'll get the HD channels.
(Special SCART adapter required, available soon)
EPG Info and Guides - Yup, it also gets a fully working EPG guide for Dish network and Bev, no other FTA receiver has a dishnet guide.
Fast. Quickest channel changing out there.
Connect to your home Network - You can ftp into the receiver and get the shows off it, set recordings, change the skins/themes (make the guide look different) and many more cool things.
Compact Flash Reader - plug in your digi-cam's card into the receiver and see the pics on your TV
Premium Support - We have all the files and help you'll need in our support forums to get this receiver up and running.
This Package Includes. Comes complete with 220/110 voltage converter and SCART adapter for S-Video and RCA outputs, 4 into 1 Diseqc switch and null modem cable, and full support on our forum

not sure if this would work for FTA...Anyone else know something on this one. I don't have a FTA box. I do know, if the IRD can be JTAG'd...you can make this.
You know...believe me or hash me, I could care less. All I know is, if they are shutting down the Nagra1 stream in 5 or so months...I would much rather change script then worry about an ECM. Been up for a month...any channel I want, with any bird I decide to tune in. What's to risk if you have an extra 2313?

Personally ..I believe the choice is up to the user…which way they want to go.
No need to bash Mili….

You're right it has been up for and working fro awhile cause I've had it for 6 months (occasional PK0 change) working flawless. But it's not new, pretty much everyone has heard of the 1 chip emu. But for anyone who has not tried it I would definately suggest it. Loads of fun, especially if you have some old bootloaders, or dave emu boards lying around to fiddle with.

I've got an old h card bootloader with a 2313 on it. I've heard these can cause interference problems on DISH? I also have a spare PC with a P3 but it only has one serial port. What else is needed for emu?

Well...I wasn't bashing until I seen your smug remark. And yes, I am aware it has been out for a while...but what I pick up on is, you are the type of person that would flame anyone for 2 cents worth of advice. Bout the only good thing about that site is...no smart asses! Guess for the one's that don't know how to do it...do like this smart ass say's and keep reading. I am done with this site and forum.

I know jack shee-att about BEV or Charlie. I'm a former Dave man now thinking of subbing with BEV as I live in Canada. Question: If I get a subscription to BEV can I open up BEV PPV with a modified card or would I have to modify my receiver as well? My second question is this: Are magic cards for Dish Net only or are their "magic" cards for BEV. If so, what are the BEV cards called? Thank you.

Why not just buy a dish, receiver, old computer and emulate, that way you won't need a card, programmer, get Dish or Bev, no subscription needed.

I live in the northern Greater Toronto Area. Just off Yonge street. Atmega 128 or Omega board? Man, that's Hindu to me. I asked about whether I would need a modified card OR modified receiver with a BEV sub to open up all PPV. I'm hoping I can just get a programmed card and slip it in there in place of my subbed card and that will do it. I still have my dish from the HU days on my roof. Will need someone to come out and re-point it. Otherwise I may try it myself. I'm basically starting at square 1 when it comes to hacking BEV. I don't mind paying for a monthly sub but I would prefer NOT to modify the BEV receiver if possible. Just shove another card in there. Any advise would be appreciated.

Is a magic card for Dish Net only or are there programmed cards available that, when inserted in place of an active BEV sub card, will open up all PPV's? I'm thinking of subbing to Bev. Don't say I didn't warn you. hehe

you can use just your card as long as you can read the box key numbers for the receiver and more then likely you have updates on that card that would need to be unlocked before you can read the card in a program called Nagra that will give you the keys right off the card. If not then you read the keys from the receiver with a jtag reader. I know all of this is probably greek to you but that would be the process. If I was in the GTA I would come out and help you but I am 2 1/2 hours away. I think your gonna have to find someone locally unless you have plans of coming to Niagara.

Thanks for the offer. Being new to Charlie or BEV, I'm frankly in way over my head. I think I just need to keep reading before making a purchase. Like you said, I could use some help getting started. BEV and Charlie are a whole new language. Damn I miss watching PPV boxing gratis! Thanks for all your suggestions. Feel free to shed any more light on this. Now I am hearing there's no point subbing with BEV. I thought that would result in less hashing?
