510 Vidmod question

My 510 hag two GT, from other posts on the forum I understand that thouse tsops has protected areas so you need vidmod.
I also read that sometimes you need to erase U6 and U7, now in order to do that and make sure that you erased all you need a vidmod.
Doing the 3 wire vidmod will supply 12v to U7 which meen that you can fully erase and write to it. But what about U6? It seems that you cannot really erase all of it?
Is that assesment correct?
Does it really metter that U6 is not fully erased?
What info is stored in thouse protected areas ?

Well first of all you are a little misunderstood. You don't have to erase the whole flash. You only edit an address and you are set. It will erase completely if you do it but you don't need to unless you are editing the ird#, boxkeys, Or repairing a corrupted tsop. There is lots of helpfull stuff on that link. You can find more info if you do a search for 500 series ird's.
