Hi Guys
Does anyone know if the c-band satellites are in the same arc as the dbs or dishnet sat 119? Any info would be great because I have convert my c-band dish to get dish sat 119 and bev 91 because I have a really weak signal on a 30 " dish. Hey DAVE411 if your online did you change your c-band setting to get bev91?
Thanks FREEZER

They are in the same arc. To stay in synch with the earth rotation speed they have to be the same distance from the earth.

Hi Mrduffin
Why would I be able to get any signal? I went back and forth over the arc very slowly one click at a time and waited a few second each time and didn't get any signal. I am going to put the dish net lnb back on my 30" dish and see if it picks up the sat 91 and sat119 again. The only thing I can think of that maybe cause my c-band dish to not pick up the sat 91 and sat 119 signal is that I couldn't fit the dishnet lnb's round plastic bulb very far into the scaler ring. Maybe the metal of the scaler ring interferred with it but I seriously doubt it. But I could be wrong?
Anyone have any ideas about it?
Thanks Freezer

How big are the holes in youru dish? They could be too large to reflect the higer frequency signal back to the lnb. I belive that a 1/8" hole is the max size for the dbs signal.

duffin is correct 1/8" and larger will not work....you will need a solid dish or one with smaller holes.....you can get solid panels to replace the "homesat" ones

Well, I guess I can go and measure the holes but I know another guy on this message board that is receiving sat 91 and sat119 with his mesh dish that is basicly the same as mine if I can post his pictures that he sent me then maybe you guys could tell me if this is possible to receive dbs signals or not? I can't seem to put a picture up on the board.
Thanks Freezer

Hey Guys
If my c-band dish was rated to be used as ku-band dish as well wouldn't that me that I should be able to pickup the dbs signals? I am not sure if the ku-band signals are the same freq as dbs signals>

Three different LNB's, each is a different frequency.
All 3 will work on the big dish.

The focal distance, could be part of problem. I've seen the pictures. Some
have holes in the scaler ring, others are able to mount it next to the outside of
the scaler ring.

Chelso....or anybody,

I have an 11 foot C-band dish (with KU lnb) outside just sitting there. The idea of it picking up dish signals has crossed my mind but I came up empty on a Google search to convert C-band to Dishnetwork.

Could you help me get started on this with some advice on where to read up on the how-to?

Thanks,
