Advice needed on 301.013

Helping a friend get up and running with MC. His reciever is the 301.013 model.
I j-tag'd to obtain his boxkeys and ird #, no problems. Is there any mods needed for this unit before I can use the MC (keep seeing vidmod posts) or is that only after an ecm?
Should I install any locks first?

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

You will need to do a vid mod for the IRD to accept any other card than the yellow version, but only if your bootstrap is 17xx or higher.

Do a search on vidmod and you will come up with a TON of information on how to do it.

The bootstrap, and other numbers are just a guide line.........the determining factor is 7FFFFFAC, if it is 0000 no mod needed to run blue roms or MC's, if it is D500, vid mod needed to change 7FFFFFAC to 0000.

jkeys---flash programming---single address box------read, then the data box will show contents of the address (7FFFFFAC) that you put in the address box.

When I enter 7FFFFFAC in the address field and hit read, I get FFFFFFFF in the data field instead of D500 or 0000. Why? (301.013, New, single tsop, no locks).

R79 is not grounded and jkeys cannot correctly read the flash.

had to ask skinerd i have a 301.13 single tsop havent done vid mod .
it jtags 7fffffac reads 0000 but when iprogram the card i get blackout even on 101

Then the card is not correctly programmed, sounds like you have wrong boxkeys entered on the card.

thanks for replying skinerd i have done alot of this and checked and
rechecked box keys but not even getting any preview channels 101 ,480 etc
but will jtag again. thanks. :cry:

Correct boxkeys are required, that's part of what the receiver uses to decode the video.
