ROM 3, REV 382 still getting Backdoor appears to be closed

I'm sure this has been answered before but I thought I've done my homework but can't seem to find out what I'm missing. I got a card and IRD from my Aunt the other day that hasn't seen the stream in 3-4 years. It is a ROM 3 card that was at REV 381 before I ever did anything. I wanted to do a simple backup on the card before I ever did anything. I can't even seem to do that because of the error "Backdoor appears to be closed, aborting". So then I started to try and use NagraEdit 4.1 and smart unlocker but now I'm at REV 382 somehow. I don't even have a stream up and runnnig yet to insert the card into. I just wanted to backup the card before I did any programing. Somebody let me know what I'm doing wrong and what I need to look for. Thanks

the card is streamlocked. You can open it with a program called rompopper, check the download section. you will need a iso programmer. which if you are working with nagraedit, I assume you already have one.

Is it possible the card is streamlocked if it hasn't been in the stream in 3-4 years? The other day when I put it in the reciever it was 381. I don't have a dish yet. Getting that tomorrow. But after running a couple programs on it...viagra, smart unlocker, it's now reads 382 in NagraEdit. I'll try rompopper and see what it does. Is there a default backdoor password I should know about?

381 is streamlocked but can be easily opened with the above program I mentions. If the card was in the stream as of Nov. of 2002 it can be streamlocked.

This is driving me crazy. Everything that I use says that "Card should be unlocked now" but none of them work. I'm not sure if I'm doing the Viagra script correctly but it appears so. I also used the smart unlocker from Chief and it says the same thing but when trying to do a One Step Backup it still says backdoor locked. The card used to be at REV 381 but now it's 382 without being in the stream. For some reason when I click clean with options the OK button is greyed out. I need help. I'm gonna go crazy. I used to know alot about DTV but new to DISH stuff. I can't get around this stupid back door thing.

wyfbtr3 go to the top of the page and you will see a tab for public file downloads hit it and it will give you the file section look on the left side for dishnet rom files hit that and go down to file #153 it is a good unlocker for the 382 i use it a lot. do the read and it should do the trick. u need ne 4.1 on this one

This is a d2c file for nagraedit, open this file and extract to you d2c file in nagraedit then put your card in your programmer and click on the comm tab in nagraedit, click on open d2c select this file from your d2c file, click on test d2c if you do not get any error, hit the send d2c button, this will pop a 382

Nothing is working. Everything is coming back saying card should be unlocked but it still is. What's the chances of using a different computer? I also have an old DTV White Viper Unlooper. It's not modified but what would I need to do that?

that d2c file didn't work? I don't know what you will need to mod that old loader, a trimpot and soldering gun for sure, But I can't say I've seen the mods for that one.

Still getting nothing. Why is clean card OK button greyed out in Nagra 4.1? And why am I at Rev 382 when my card before I ever did anything to it was a 381?

OK I finally got the backdoor to open but it keeps closing on me. I was able to get a one step backup. Then I just got it to clean and got the OK box but then it was closed again. How come it keeps closing on me?
