ROM 2 Help !!!! Please

I have a ROM 2 CARD and now isn't working ..

I put the card in the Dss/Iso Red (D2) programer

I Try NagraEdit 4.1 & XCel 3.6

The programer green light is ON all time

The card freak out !

I don't know what happend and what can I do to fix my ROM 2 Card .

Somebody help me please !

I also noticed something not right with the ROM 2 card.

I can read with the iso but get backdoor closed. When reading with Xcel, nothing but intermittent RX errors. Calibrate dont work.

My Rom2 was never in the stream since it authentic authoriziation, it read just fine when I backed up the card before putting it away for safe keeping.

I think something is sensitive with these ISO programmers. Its not the battery.

I have more cards and the green light isn't ON with these cards.

Your rom is looped. You can try bugbusters in Nagra or unlooper programs like ATR resurection that you can get in the download section. Looped is a bad way to be, but sometimes you can bring em' back.

have you tried nagra 1.0? use the bug buster function in nagra 1.0 then do a one step clean with narga 4.1. that's how i fix my rom2's

What lights are on when depends on which loader your using. Sometimes my extreme ISO freezes up and I have to unplug it to get it to start working again. HDTV_MAN brought up a good point too. You want to be using Nagra1 or 1.1 with your rom2 and NEVER do a one step clean with later versions of Nagra on your rom2.

NEVER do a one step clean with a rom 2 period. if this is a newly aquired card most likely someone passed a bad one on to you. a couple days worth of bugbusters and jacking the card in and out will be about all you can do before you pronounce the card dead.

Your in good shape white zombie. To 'clean' a rom2 you write a known clean image to it; I use Nagra1.1. The clean rom2 image I use is in the downloads titled rom2cln.ne2 You really don't need to use the 'cleaner' file unless your having programming issues.

Thanks, I am using nagraedit 4.0, will that work? I have been using 3's and 10's only so far, this is new to me.

4.0 will work but sometimes 1.1 works when the others don't. once you get your image squared away you can use any nagra.

Nope, you need to use Nagra1.1 to write to your rom2. For some reason the newer versions of Nagra just don't work very well with rom2's. I use tiergenR1 to make the tier lists. A lot of people like excel3.6 and it works great for them. I love rom2's but they are a little different than the other blue roms. Only 44 tiers on a rom2. (85 tiers on rom3, 114 tiers on rom10/11)

Can't unmark it, but you can mask the mark. I don't have any marked rom2's so that's about all I can tell you about using a marked rom2.

How ever one, the light stays on, the other, it doesn't
does this mean one is looped and one is locked or what?
I've tried nagraedit 1.
So do I just keep doing it or is there something else?

Got my 1st rom2 unlooped...Try sticking into the freezer overnight then run bugbuster on it right after you take it out 4096 tries..Then write a clean rom2 image to it..

rom2 is the way to go as far as I'm concerned. Only hold 44 tiers, but run like a champ through almost everything. No blocker needed etc. You just need access to a current working image to keep em' going. Let me know if you need it and I'll upload a current image.

I had a rom2 locked up that I couldn't get into and finally popped it by using the nagreedit 1.1 program and bugbuster. You run the bugbuster program and pop your card in and out while the bug buster program is running. And keep checking to see if its open by trying to do a "read" with nagraedit. The moment it pops and you can get into the card you IMMEDIATELY write a CLEAN image to the card. Everythings fine once you do that...but it took me a few hours of playin before I popped it so HAVE FUN

The freezer trick is the way to go. Did it myself a few years back.

BTW- Rom2 is the way to go for sure. I have one that's been up almost 2 years straight!!! No tier changes or anything. Have Internationals but NO PPV or Porn on it but well worth it's weight in Gold! (It's in a subbed ird though)
I test with Rom 3's, 10 &11's but know that I always have TV to keep the family happy. :)

I have been using mc2 but I have an old rom2 for a 3000. Can you use the programer for mc2 to program the rom2? Thought I mignt try programing the card.
