Can anyone point me in the direction of some info on how to program the 7100 with a rom3? All I keep ending up with is ppv preview and channel 100. I am just loading the tiers and using the 7100 tier. What am I missing? I have never tried the 7100 before. Thanks in advance.

I Belive Your Reciver Has Been Hit. You Describe The Same Problem I Had With 2 7100 It Was The Tsop That Had To Be Programed Over And Put A Lock In So It Won't Happen Again. Just Got Them Back And The Work Perfectly

I will have to AGREE!! But to be sure check the location ID. If it's 00000001, then that's your answer.

If your boxkeys are wrong, you will only get the preview channels

HDTV Man (or anyone else, I guess):

How do you prevent getting location ID 00000001 on the 7100/7200 while using M/C, for instance? The MIC lock is easy to install but I understand you can still get hit...

Do you have to forgo the PPV? Any other tricks....???

Thanks in advance!

The lock is to prevent the TSOP from bein wipped. your card can still get hit but not your 7100

The tp109 to mic jack lock still works to prevent tsop corruption when you get hit. Technically a tsop lock does not prevent you from getting hit, it just prevents the damage when you do. As far as avoiding ECM with a 7x00, it's no different than any other receiver. You need a good CAM ID, a proper ppv string, etc.

Thanks for the tips. I checked the ID and it is hit. How do I reset it? Can I plug into the parallel port in the back? Is it similiar to using jtags? What program is needed to do it? Thanks again

If it is location id 000001 you will probably have to send it to HDTV man to have him fix it. You can not jtag them without a special spendy jtag.
