Using SuperDish 105, 301-10 receiver, Rom2 card, tiergen. I can receive many non-spot beamed locals by applying tiers for each set of locals. For example in tiergen Richmond Va. has the following tier data

Min tier max tier rights level
2220 2234 001C79 00

I understand the level as 00 and the rights as 001C79 as channel 7289, the first channel in the tier. However to receive all the channels requires about 25 tiers and on a ROM2 card I am limited to about 39 tiers max.

Is there a way to write a tier from channel 7000 through channel 8999?
What does the min tier and max tier mean?

Thanks for any help provided.

used 1B58 (7000) and 2327 (8999) with rights of 001B58, level 00.

Did not work.

If I understand dec to hex and back, as noted above the min tier and max tier are not channel numbers. Converting 2220 to dec = 8736 and converting 2230 to dec = 8756.

If I were to find the lowest local min tier in the 7000 range and the highest max tier in the 8000 range and then use the rights as the lowest channel in the 7000 channels, would this create the proper tier?

Thanks.

I just did the exact same thing the other night. Be advised though that your IRD will only hold 745 channels max. Go over (and you will with wide open local tiers on the 105) and it'll start dropping stuff after a couple hours. Here's what I used and it's working just fine.

For the 105 try these:

1CE8 1FF8

2010 22F6

Currently I only am running the first set at 675 channels. I went over with both and had to scale it back.

Thank you. That helped a great deal. I used the following on the 105 after your kind reply and wrote a tier in tiergen as follows:

Min Tier Max Tier Rights Level
1CE8 22CE 001B8A 00

opened up all the locals on the 105.

Will need to check the number of open channels now to be sure I don't exceed the approximate 750 limit. Great help and my thanks for prompt reply and excellent help.
