My power light comes on my ExVu 3700 receiver, I can't turn it off with the remote, and I get no picture, guide or anything. I unplug the receiver, plug it back in and I get a picture, working fine. Once I turn it off, eventually the power light comes back on, and when I turn the TV on, no picture.
Any suggestions.
A friend has the same setup as me, and he is not experiencing any problems.

what method are you testing??? (plastic....rom2,3,10,or11)(non-plastic....atmega,emulation,magic card, dssrev, avr). What is your location id on your system info screen? Do you have a digital lock installed in your 3700 reciever?

It is a Rom3, and there is a Tsop lock on the receiver. When I turn it off, within 1 minute it turns back on. And the screen is black. But like I said, when I unplug it and plug it back in, I watched it for about 1 hour with no problems. Worse case, I leave the power on the receiver at all times

Your IRD is trying to update the firmware. Because you have a lock on it, it doesn't update the firmware. You need to turn out update off or turn the lock off and let the IRD update.

The power light will be off when the update is done.

OK so should the card be in or out. With light on, I should then turn the switch, and then when it turns off, turn the switch back to the original position.

Unplug power from IRD. Flip switch to open or unlock (however it's labeled). Plug power to IRD. Now power down IRD via remote. The green light will begin to flash 15 mins. Then either it will stay lit or go out completely. If it goes out, then power up and check to see if you have the current FW. If it does, then you'll need to switch the d/lock back on. Always unplug IRD before flipping d/lock switch.
Now, if the IRD still doesn't update, then you'll have to open her up and un-solder the wire at R259 and replace the resistor with a 33 Ohm 1/4 watt.
BTW...card in slot.

Thanks for all the help, it worked. It only took about 30 seconds to take the update and all is well.
