How many people have had success backing up their flashes using a PVR 501?
Do you get the "error reading from memory"?

I can't get by 50%.

Please tell us how you did it and what version of JKEYs you used.

I use the 301-508 Jtag file in the downloads section. Many, many of us peeps have backed up our files.

I really value all of your input. It helps out a lot. BUt sometimes its the easier things that get the job done!!

I think everyone should remember to hold the JTAG wire and press FIRMLY onto the contacts in order to get the full reading.

I backed up both flashes and EEPROM by just pressing hard.

It's a wonder what a little pressure can do.

You also get better results with a buffered jtag. Especially on 501/508, etc

does it matter if I leave my receiver on or off when I'm gone from home? Do the chances increase to get ECM'd if i leave it on while I'm not at home? Should I turn it off.

Well, shucks, we missed that one. But you didn't provide the info like I never jtaged before. We just assumed and you know what that stands for.

Nope, leave it on. You need to UNPLUG the IRD to be totally safe. Power off does nothing except turn the little green light off. :)

And then before you plug it in you need to come to the forums to see if an ECM is in the stream. To much work, put a Digital lock on it and your good to go, or keep your "press" firmly Jtag handy. :)
