I have the blue button UHF remote......UHF means that it will work from any room in your house on a UHF capable device right?

Is a BEV 3100 UHF capable - is there any way to make it capable if it is not already?

BEV is not UHF capable. Any UHF receiver will have an additional 'F' connector for connecting the UHF antenna for the remote.
There are some UHF conversion kits available to do the trick.

Actually, BEV is UHF compatible. As long as the IRD is UHF as well. BEV or DN, same thing. ie: 4500/4700/5100/5800, etc.
