Go To this link for starter and at the last thread get the stb updater and bin file

You are going to have to get a straight through 9-Pin RS232 serial cable, (NOT null modem - I'm using a standard rs232 cable w/gender changer) this can be gotten at Radio ?Shack if you don't already have one. One end goes to the back of your computer and the other at the back of your Pansat receiver.
Pretty simple to flash have you tool uploader with file ready turn power off on back of your pansat 2500a and turn it back on as soon as you see the first green light on the front of your receiver press Write bin and wait for it to finish do not stop it ,it will reset when it`s done it will say complete.
after that then scan your satellites and channels should name as you go.
good luck and have a great day!!

it's like this. i always have my receiver unplugged, switch in back off,i hook up my cable to comp. i use gtrom stb updater ver 2.1 , i plug unit in and wait until unit powers up and says "on" i choose factory flash" (acquired at fta central) wait until unit reboots to the "on" position , now choose current fix ( i use dec2/04) "235f" , download , wait for unit to reboot back to "on" .......your done ... scan sats ......watch tv.....
now for your info i have a pansat 2500a , i select ... key:global as type .. never ever had a problem , done over 50 units with 100 percent success... i never load a channel list i believe a "scan all" is the best ..... i read a lot of guys have problems , don't know why.
follow my intructions and you will be up and running in no time... and another thing is when flashing or putting current fix is is :ALWAYS CHOOSE FLASH ROM FILE,,,,, NEVER BOOT
FILE ...i hope this helps you people out there... also i just did 4 units yesterday , i opened the boxes {brand new units} always flash , wait , download fix, and my friends are watching tv ,,, thanks guys .... merry xmas

I would suggest you read the how-to over & over untill you almost have it memorized, as many have screwed up one step & then DEAD or SLEEPING reciever.
Much easier to read & learn before trying.

Pick up the howto in the 4th post of the thread in the link attached. This has everything you need to know to get your pansat set up.

Good to see ya got it going boostdebbie. Channel switching varies from bin to bin somewhat although I've found signal quality and how your cable runs are done have some impact on the speed the channels switch. The lower the signal and longer cable runs definitely have an impact as well as a lesser grade diseqc switch. You didnt miss anything, there is no epg for the unit, although it will show channel location and name of the channel if you loaded a channel list. Nothing with what is showing though.
