I have a linksys router that I would like to configure to use a proxy server. Does anyone know how this is set up or where I can find the instructions to do so. Thanks in advance.

You just add the proxy server addy to your internet browser. Example: For Internet Explorer: click Toools> Internet Options...>Connections>LAN Settings>Check the box marked "Use proxy server for LAN" and put your proxy server addy and port # in the box. Click OK then test it by refreshing your current page. If it refreshes you're good to go, if not the server you are using may be down or incorrect.

what type of connection you using now?
how is your router currnetly configured.
networked? or are you just using it as a hub?
What model linksys?
If you are using it as a router and you have your machine set to obtain a Ip automatically you may have trouble getting a proxy to accept the private IP address.(I.E> 192.168.XXX.XXX>
you will probily have to log into the router and change some settings in it to accept the proxy addrress you want to use.
open a command promt and type in ipconfig /all
see what your defualt gateway is and see what the IP address of the router is.
open your internet explorer and type in the address bar the ip address of the router and it should open up a set up page"your now logged in to your router"
unless it was changed at set up the log in id and passwaord should be "Admin and Admin" thwere you should also find a help menu with exact instruction on how to configure the router to use a proxy server.
may be as simple as the steps outlined by dRaNo
or depending on your configuration and ISP you may have to PLUG in a few numbers.
Networking is 50% science and 50% reliogon
sometimes it works when it should not and vise versa.
