Hey all,
I just tried to update using the the new ppv strings twice. went thriogh the usual routine.
1)Remove Blocker
2)Clean Card in Nagra.
3)open bin and edit active key
4)run tiers patch
5)run new ppv patch
6)write to card
7)apply blocker
First,I get "aqiring sta signal for a minute then I get error 019(smartcard not inserted correctly). What'd I miss? Thanks

If that is a regular card it's either the contacts not making good connection or looped card.
019 nag means the card is not communicating with the receiver. It knows it has a card inserted from the microswitch on the card slot read.

Thanks guys,
The cards(ROM 3) not looped. After the first time I was able to re-do it. LOC ID is not 000001. I'm using the PPV patch that was posted here : http://www.dssftp.com/forum/upload/showthread.php?t=39002.

If you can still read the card and get a valid read I still think it's not mating in you receivers card slot properly, Does it feel lose? Could try a business card on top of the card.

Hey Guys,
Well it looks like my IRD doesn't like the PPV patch. Or maybe th mix between that and my tier patch.
I tried the whole thing again and after a 30 secs. of "aquiring sat signal" it went to the 019 error.
Re-cleaned the card and programmed without the ppv patch and that error went away.
Now I've gotten past aquiring sat screen and have a black screen.(nix that, video just came up!!)I think it's updating the keys. Does someone have a good tier patch and ppv's? Someting is screwey here. Why error 019?Don't make no sense!!!Thanks

that is several patches. If you have maximum tiers on your card and only had one ppv string patch and then added those ppv strings you would have put more patches on your card than it can handle. Make sure you don't have more tiers than the card can hold. Also if you just erase your ppv patch that is in your old tier patch you can get rid of that !remove all ob part of the patch and just put in the OB strings.

It's two patches, not several. I Tried it both ways. With and without remove all0B. Guess I'll try deleting some tiers from my tiers patch.

Actuall I believe it was three he uploaded but several is a bit of a exageration pyotr. sorry I tend to do that sometimes. If you had two on it before then you should be fine if you only added two of his strings. That is very strange. Here is a couple of mine that maybe will be more user friendly for you, I don't know why they would be but you can try them if you want.

Thanks Crazy,
It did turn out to be too many tiers. My tier patch was really loaded up.

glad I could help, I wasn't sure it would let you apply it if you had to many tiers so I thought it would be worth a try, if you use a public blocker that writes to the card then you have to delete even a few more as the blocker takes space. I found that out the hard way.
