Receiver 2800 - after installation of Digital Lock the receiver does not power up at all....
Any one had this before?
Do I have to cut any trace at all if I removed the R259 resistor?
Thanks,

No,there is no need to cut any trace on this model...if you have removed R259.
You are going to have to check all solder joints,as you may have a cold solder and make sure you are connected to the correct points.

Removing R259 eleminates the need to cut the trace. There are many versions of lock out there nowdays so it is difficult to be precise. Start here:
Without connecting IRD to the dish (this is VERY important) turn off the lock (switch to normal) and see if it comes up then.
But I should say that most failures after lock installation are due to incorrect installation. Check the soldered points of each wire carefully. Many instructions are a bit vague - like the connection at SB16 is actually near SB16 not on SB16 and so forth.
check it out carefully and update us

I will try to check it out tomorrow night - I have to babysit tonight....
Thank you for all the advices...
Oh one more question:
I know if I put it on:
Lock that means no one can write to the TSOP
Unlock means can be written to the TSOP
But what does the middle do?

OK...
I reinstalled the TSOP lock and the receiver is working now. :D
But.... :(
Every 3- 4 minutes I have to reboot the receiver because I'm getting the Serious problem detected error nag.
Any advice?
I tried all 3 positions and the result were the same - same error...

Have you updated this ird?
If not ...menu 6,1,5,
Set to download without permission,
save,
switch ird off with remote only,
leave for 5-30 mins,
LED will blink showing that it's updating.
I used to get that message after installing digital lock on 2700 and what I ended up having to do was to shorten the wires to less than 4". The shorter the better try that. It seems to be critical on those models not so much the 3100.

Thank you guys!
I will try it Saturday night and let you know the result.
The easiest to get the update and when that won't work then I will try to shorten those wires :D

I had time and tried to get the upgrade downloaded to my receiver - but I got the same error again.
So I cut shorter all the wires but the same error came up....
Any other advice?
How can I change the camid?

Yes Darnat, sorry to bother you , I am new bies
I have a 2800 DN power up when I bought it, I installed Digital lock and EPPROM lock. Removed R 259. I extract box key, and I want to change to BEV, I used Jkey and hit Flash Programming – Power off IRD and on, hit OK within 3 second
Hit Erase and they ask Erase whole Flash? I hit YES
After that I put in BEV stream for 30 minutes, try turn on the Power but Power not on
I did not back up TSOP. I removed EPPROM and Digital Lock, reinstall R259 but power not up
Plug Power cord
I used Wall 2.0
ID: 0
Implementation: 0
Serial number: IRD #
Box key: xxxxx……
Input Filename I down load from TSOP Bank for model 2800
Flash Base Address: 1FC00000
Length (Hex): 60000
Address Offset (Hex): 0
Action
Program flash
After done power still off
I used Jkey software with Jtag, now the do not recognize the model and Boxkey too
Thanks Darnat

All you had to do was to erase SA5...not the whole flash!
Can you get in to flash at all..as you need to start all over again and flash tsop with edited version of your build.
I can't state enough....you have to read up on the subject before trying it...you have to understand the whole process as it could end up costing you more in the long run...and leave you with no ird's!

I used Jkey to flash, erase..... and down load files in Tsop bank.
Finally power up, but IRD# is different with IRD # on the back of the IRD, but OK to me.
Thanks Darnat
