New 301 receiver

Just got a new 301 receiver installed by Dish, the receiver is working with no card in the box. I dont know if this is a new thing. How can I program my magic card so that it will work with this receiver?

Sounds like a cardless reciever to me.

If it has a place for a card it may be able to be programed, however, I would try to find another box with a card to test with and keep that for a legit reciever.

It has a card slot but no card in it. And it is definetly a 301 receiver

Well, you've got to be one of the new kids on the block cus I've never heard of a cardless 301 either.

What is the Reg # on the back of the unit?

No card in slot, and it works?? Then it is DEFINATELY not a 301, and 311 looks just like a 301. Read the system info screen it don't lie.

As for the cardless IRD, skinerd is the man to listen too, I agree it has to be a 311.

I have 2 of these units (in the closet) which are cardless but do have the card slot. I havent tried to use or program a card in them. They ARE labeled on the back as DP301-015. Didint check the info screen, just the sticker on the back. Got them about a year ago.

That pic is all over the internet, I have seen it used in several joke posts.
