Happy Sunday, Y'all! Hey......does a blue button remote work on a 7200 or does this IRD require a special remote??? I tried all my blue botton remotes and one universal remote. Didn't work. Rats! Any ideas???
Thanks,

nope
blue button or any other charlie remote will work, has to be a webtv remote or
you can get a "learning remote" from electronic store.
there are some models #'s but I do not have them anymore :(ebay had them all over last time I looked but for now you can give up on the blue buttons

I will try to dig into some old archives and my other HDD to find the models #'s fro the universal remotes that will work,
Guy sent me a link once and it had a page with 1000's of remotes and showed the one that would learn a 7200

The One 4 All URC 6131 sold at Best-Buy and some Wal-Marts works great. You have to e-mail them for additional codes to get the buttons to work the way you want it, but it only costs about $20.

Carful getting a learning remote. You need a working remote to teach it. :-)

That is if fubr are I on the same track when talking about learning remotes.

If you get the orginal from ebay try to get one for a 7200 model. It has more features than the 7100 version. Even those remotes are different. You have to use a special code to get the 7200 remote to work on any 7100 or 7200 you previously used a 7100 remote on.

Try Rat Shack. 5-in-one Universal Remote. Model # 15-2115. I think it cost $14.99. You dont need a working remote to teach this one. PVR functions work with this remote.. Great for use with a 7200!!
