i was on ebay and seen some advertising for free satellite ppv, events ect.
he called it sky ppv (sky tv?)
not sure if its a hack of some sort, but it was available in the uk only.
if anyone knows, who is "sky tv" affiliated with?...dtv, dish... ans if they are with the dave or charlie, is the uk using the new generation cards?..p4/nagre2?
just wonderin, cause if they are connected, then maybe there is some hope...
thanks,
hillbilly

SKY tv is what the english/uk satelitte/cable tv is called owned and run by a guy called rupert murdoch i think a big money mogul dabbles in alot of things.. I know that there used to be a hack for n1 in the way of a unit called the "phantom" which was a little box hooked up but in the 1 year that N2 was out there had not been any hack out for it . I am originally form the uk until last year when i moved out to canada hence the reason i know this, as far as i can see BskyB as they were know at first has no affiliation to any of them NTL a company back home are a supplier of cable and they use a simmilar card system as BEV here what type of card i am not 100% sure but have seen on ebay people selling the NTL TELEWEST cards as compatable with plastic here rom 3, 10 etc..
If you have the link to what u observed i would like a pm so i can see it hope this helps a little

Sky view is what your talking about, it was around before direct tv was, a friend of mine used to pass out flyers for them in his spare time, the more people he got to sign up in his area the more he got paid, his grand prize for doing it so long was free tv and then direct tv came into play and I haven't seen much of sky view anymore and UK. sounds about right.

I don't know who the owner was but I am sure it wasn't dish network or direct tv.

Sky is owned by Newscorp which is in turn owned by Rupert Murdoch. The Fox network (run by Lachlan his son ) plus DTV are also owned by Newscorp as are many many other media outlets, both here and in Europe

Euro Sat signals were hacked / descrambled so many times in the early days it became a joke. Some of the most famous Euro hackers had a ball, especially people like Markus Kuhn.

The Ho Lee Fook, the Kentucky Fried Chip, McCormack's early attempts at emulation were all over the net and of course we can't forget Kuhn's method of descrambling TV.

Sky and the other companys paid a heavy price in the early days, but they eventually got even with later versions of Viaccess and Irdeto, and the latest version of Sky has yet to be hacked (going strong after 2 plus years).
