Couple Yes or No Newbie Questions

Do I need to upgrade (p200) software in order for a 301 receiver to work with the SuperDish?

When I hookup my receiver with MC card inserted and all I get is the black and white shhhhh... screen, would that more
than likely be a bad connection on the receiver's dish cable conector (where you plug in the dish cable to the
receiver)?

If you guys can give more information that would be great, but just yes or no would be totally cool too.

Nope, I dont get anything about acquiring a Sat. Just noise

But your saying the software version wouldn't cause that right?

Let me give some more info:

I have a 301 receiver with Jtag and Lock. I can extract my keys np. The very first time I hooked up the receiver I did it with no card inserted. I was given the box info page. I didnt get any weird numbers (all 0's or anything like that). I unplugged the box and then inserted the mc1 card (programmed with 2.27 camless-rom10). All I get is Noise, as if you where to just plug in a tv with no cable or sat connection. The box I received in the mail got a little banged up (card cover was hanging off, plasic tubes that cover the remote lcd's where rattling around in the box). Everything looked good when I openened the box (at least the obvious components). From all that I've read I keep getting the idea that its the siver box connector to the sat cable). I have no idea how to test this though.

Let me know if this helps and if anyones got any answers or suggestions on what I should try

Im using just the coax cables. I also have a 510 through subscription that works with the same cables. Of course the 510 was installed and leased by Dish.

Should I use RCA jacks? I did get that IRD info page the first time I hooked it up so I assumed the connection to the TV was OK. But I am a total Newbie (LOL)

I used the RCA jacks for video 1, is that ok or would it be different for sat? Im getting a blank black screen. I guess thats better than just noise

Also I only get the black blank screen after the green led light goes off

are you sure that you are hooking sit out to the tv & sat in to the dish cable.also if you remove the card do you still get the info box?

Im sure of it. Nothing at all changes if I remove the card, same blank screen. When I pop it back in the green led comes back and then goes off again

Alright! Im now getting a picture, acquiring sat, then error 19 smart card not inserted correctly. Im using the 2.27 MC1 camless-rom10. I've seen this error posted all over the place so Im going to start looking around. If anyone once to leave any ideas here though that cool too.

Use Magic 2.29 or Polaris fix. 2.27 expired yesterday.
