What model IRD do you have and does it have a TSOP/EEPROM lock ? The firmware version should be updated. So far, I have heard of no problems by letting updates in. Check this to see what version you should be at. http://www.dishnetwork.com/content/customerCare/technical/software_versions/index.asp Unlock and turn off thr IRD and it should download immediatly. Don't forget to relock right away!

let it take the update, might take 30 minuts, usually just 5 minuts, then you will be at current rev and good to go. test on

Yep, 061 is virgin firmware stream updating to current, Don't see that usually on ecm fixes and such, But it's normal.

so is the easiest wat to solve this promble is the erase sa5..2700 receiver..and then let it restream and get the updates with the lock off and no card in..?

Just put the card in and let it complete the 061 update. On remote press "Menu,6,1,1" run check switch, If it looks good hit cancel, It will ask if signal and aiming is good/Signal locked, Answer yes, Then let it go to 061 updating, After you are all set.
If you didn't yet, Save the virgin tsop image, It could be handy later.

Make sure you have a blocker on the card, If it's virgin also the ird and boxkeys on the card will be all zero's yet and probably will not stream lock, But never hurts to play it safe anyway.

i have left the receiver siting for ever..and when i run the check switch test...nothin..everything is XXX out...so should i erase the sa5 and then start over?

If it is not passing check switch it will not update either by dumping SA5. You need signal for either way to work. Is the dish aimed correctly and is it non DP series?

well when i go into aim dish..i have it locked on 119, its only at 60 but it says locked..? so any ideas? why it would say that?

60 is a pretty weak signal. What is your dish setup? Dish and switch connected models/ type?

dish---cord to reciever---reciever to tv---receiver 2700

Not quite what I meant here.....
The dish itself, Is it a 18 inch round, 20 inch oval, 1 LNB 2 LNB's? Does the dish have a "DP" logo on its lnb/feedhorn assembly?

oh..haha, 18 inch, 1 lnb, with two outputs, and the dish says bell express vu on it

OK, That would be the same as a dish 300 setup then, It doesn't have a switch so it will not pass on the check switch test, It should say "No switch detected".
Try going into dish setup signal meter and set it to transponder 11, I'd try getting the signal up a little higher. Then if you haven't yet, Jtag it and do a "Save Mem" so you have a tsop backup. Then dump sa5 and let it restream.

I've been trying to get a Model 3800 to update in the stream also. I'm wondering if Charley has killed the stream update for more models. I've done this hundreds of times in the past and never had a problem.
I would suggest everyone make a backup of their tsop, maybe something new is brewing.
