Hi Guys, I have a modded Nexus T-911 and have a slight problem that I am hopeing someone here can help me out. The dip switch on the back of the board, I seem to have broken off one of the switches inside and cant switch it anymore. It was a S/T loader and when I got it, they gum up the switch so it can not be chaned very easily but I removed the crap the best I could but it still switched very hard and when I flash back and forth with it, I guess it just wasnt cleaned well enough yet and I broke the switch off. I am hopeing that someone here might have a old loader that dont work that they might want to sell me the switch off of it, or if anyone has any of these switches or know where I might get one, That would be greatly appreciated. I cant switch out of flash mode now and it dont seem to work well anymore stuck in that position.
Thanks guys and hope to hear from someone....

Heck, you could even remove the dips all together and just run physical jumpers if you had to. That's all those dip switches are doing is opening and closing a connection. If you can solder you can at least get it going again even if you don't replace the switch. I'm sure digikey and mouser (if not Rat Shack) have those little 6x dip switches....although I have no idea what the part numbers would be.

Yeah I can solder, but the Rat Shack here sucks. They dont have crap and the closest one for me from here is 50 miles away. Guess I could make the trip if I have to but if they didnt have it then the trip was wasted. Do you know what exactly the switch is called and I could call Rat Shack and asked before I went there?

You can check at radioshack.com (I think that's the right url, but it may be slightly different...but you get the point) to see what the part number is. The tech's at rat shack usually know less about what these things are than the peeps trying to buy them. They can however, look up a part number in most cases.

I could do that JT, Do you know if I have to make jumpers for all 6 switches or do I just make the 3 that is used? Also, if only 3 is used, do I loop the other 3 together or anything like that or just leave them alone? For me, I would rather put in a new switch but jumpers can passify me for now I guess.

Just checked the website for Rat Shack and did a search for switches, but none like the 6 position dip switch that is used on the loaders. Nothing even close so the search goes on...

There are only two pins for each dip switch. Connect those pins for 'on' and don't connect them for 'off'. I can visualize what I mean, but I'm not sure I'm making any sense. Since it's a six dip swich right there are 12 pins underneath the switches. The farthest two on the left (looking from the back) are switch 1 and the farthest two on the right (from the back) are switch 6. Look at the bottom of the board underneath the bay of dips and you should see the 12 connections I'm talking about.

Milky, I know this is a piss poor description. I'll have to try making a diagram. I'll also take a look at ratshack.com and see if I can find the part number for ya.

JT, I understand completely what you are saying. I have to remove the switch first because its stuck in flash mode and if I just solder a jumper in there, it will not work on swich 1 to turn off because its stuck in the on position. I figured if I had to remove the switch, that I could just replace it at the same time. But your method will work also but has a menagerie of wireing sticking out the back that will look tacky and I was trying to avoid that was all. But when testing, I guess we do what works. :)

Just to add a little something on mybehalf I am wondering if that is why I could never pop a rom3 card? The switch may have never worked from on to off after flash, and I can pop rom10 cards with it in flash mode but not a rom3. Is that possible?????

Lets try this link again. I couldn't find the switch at radioshack.com, but I did find it at digikey for under $2. Here is the link.
