Can't get my Magic 1 card program

I am having difficulty programming my magic 1 card. When try to program it I keep getting the error message that states Magic card not detected, Check connections, followed by several options as to what I can try to correct the problem. I am in Camless rom 3 mode. I had this problem when I first purchased the card and thought that I would never get it programmed then all of a sudden it took after numerous attempts. When the cards got hit the last few times it only took a few attempts to get it programmed. With this last 2.2.9 program I have tried everything, new battery, check my connection, attached the programmer directly, nothing seems to work. Get the same message as mentioned above. I have not changed my printer port setting because I don’t know how, but I assume they are set correctly since they have worked in the past. Can any one provide advice on what other possible actions I can take.

I dont know the answer to this but, I have been reading quite a bit on others having problesm also. I am beginning to think its a software conflict as others with the same problem are saying the same, ( I havent changed a thing). Which leads to software.

Try deleting previous versions and redownloading 2.2.9 again. I believe this to be your problem.

I had the same problem, I have one magic programmer that does not need a battery, and seem to have better luck with it. Rebooting your computer may help too.

I tried what you suggested redownloaded and deleted previous versions but still have the same problem, not detecting the card.

I keep getting aquiring sat signal and when I check the Card id it is all zeros, I am at my wits end....I am running a Magic Card 1 with a valid subscription....any one have any ideas!

bought a licence, downloaded 2.2.7 , was up for a short time,card expired. Downloaded 2.2.8 a few times, never got it to work. Downloaded 2.2.9 and i can't program my card. In safe mode it says my licence number is invalid and ask me to buy a licence. In normal mode it won't detect my card.I'm running windows 98 second edition. Can anyone help me with this problem? Tried 3 different new battery's.. Tried plugging direct, no luck.. Tried all of the programming speeds, no luck. Not sure if its a bad card or my programmer has gone bad. Just before this happened, I tried programming with 2.2.10. The program went into a loop & I canceled after 15 minutes. From then on it said "card not detected" I've never used any programs except from Mili's site.

Have you tried a business card on top of the mc1 when programming? It helps with one of my cards that I know has poor contacts.

Never rule out taking an eraser to the mc contacts.

I'm using a 10' DB25 straight through cable on parallel port 0x378, windows 98 SE.

Have you ever used 3rd party software?

Win XP?

I thought we were talking Win 98 SE. Memo to self, puff, puff, pass, lol. Doesn't matter though Win XP is also on parallel port 0x378. Sorry to hear your having so much trouble with the programming but, all in all for me, the mc1 has given me maybe 30 minutes of TV down time in the last 10 Months so, can't complain I've had nothing to watch. Are you having this trouble with 2 separate putters? win 98 & XP? I'm assuming you erased the two text files in C drive, if not do a search on sooky50, he made a great observation that Chief aptly turned into a Sticky.

I used the latest 2.2.10 Mili put out after the ECM and for some reason it worked. It didn't program like the normal program where it counts down the progress from 1 to 32. It stayed at 1 and then after what I thought was an unusually long time it showed program complete. Put the card in the receiver and it worked.

Who knows what will happen next time.
