Spys are every where from games you buy to places you visit; I have AOL and their spyware protection which is free to AOL users and it works fairly well and I would like to find out from others what they use and what is the best spyware protection out there.

Here are some of the spys, Adware, and Survailance I have found from time to time over six months of use, I am also curious to know if any one else has found these on their computers.

I have never heard of system mechanic 5 before is it a pay for support or is it free like AD/Aware?

This is one of the best I've used, and it's free.
Only drawback is you can't use it with pirated versions of Windows XP.

Mine works OK on bootlegged XP. When it asks you if you want to verify your windows, just click "verify later"

Which sadly eliminates a far larger number of people than most would believe...

I have all my disks that came with my Compaq new, all kept in a zip lock freezer bag so they will not get lost.

Thanks Chief.

I would like to have a copy of windows 95 though for my older Compaq, my brothers EX's kids over loaded the three gigabyte drive and corupted some windows files, he used a copy he had gotten from his job before he passed, I have a dvdr/cdr/cdrw/dvdrw to use if someone knows where to find a copy.

check out p2p(I prefer LimeWire). Or if you prefer torrents check out http://www.thepiratebay.org/frame.html
This is one of the last few good torrent sites.

well if you use AOL you are not only be spyed on, you are paying for it. It's by far the worst most over priced service on the market.

INot to mention it's nearly impossible to remove. Even after uninstalling it and wiping it from my registry, I still occasionaly find traces of it buried in places it shouldn't be.
Worst ISP ever.

AO Hell.
Run Spybot, Bet you find DSO Exploit also yet. Fix it then run a search for dso, You will find it hiding in a zip file after, Delete it again and then delete your recycle bin.

Stocko :cool:Dam,what do you do run an advertizement on the net for testing programs, think my cp would have a heart-attack with all that stuff-LOL,hey whatever works for you and you are satisfied.PCs have become a testing ground for manufactures. Run this,no run this, use this-this-and this. One program puts in its own spyware another eliminates it and puts in theres. What happened to the days you just turned on your cp and everything worked!!!
