Locked horns

phenomenal shots of a live and a dead deer with locked horns in Oregon. They shot the horn off the dead deer with a pistol to free the live one. The live one continued to fight with the dead one and charged the truck! This happened over the 2004 Thanksgiving weekend.

I hate the way they lock up like that sometimes. It's always the nice big bucks it happens too as well. They're the ones with the complex racks to get tangled. At least the dudes saved the one buck. It's fair to assume even the survivor may have walked away and fell down dead just from exaustion, but at least now he has a chance. Cool pic's Rax.

Look like they were locked for awhile the dead dear looks mighty skinny..!!
The live one must have snapped the others neck or something while they were facing off..?

Shit, never seen a deer like that in Oregon before! Or here for that matter. Got alot of elk though.

No I got those pics in an email from a friend. I've seen elk locked up but only for like 20 min or so. During archery season. Mother nature can be very cruel.
