they are phones that have been hacked. or something of that nature.
:p I would be VERY interested in learning how to add minutes to a tracfone if anyone knows how.....I mean without paying a vendor to do it for you. :p

I stumbled across this, don't know if it works. The original date on this link is sometime in 2003.

If this works for you guys let me know.

thanks drano, i've been a member to that site for awhile. i know there is more out there then that. i am just having trouble finding it. they say that it is big in mexico. but still can't find the right site. i found a cheap way to do it and that's threw ebay. you can get a cheap prepaid sim card(t-mobile) and put it in your phone and your all set. you need to have your phone unlocked it you dotn belong to t=mobile. in which i have some data cables to do that. they say all you have to do is tell them your area code and they hook you up with a number. but i know there are other ways......... still lookin.

Just an FYI, the Nokia Tracfone Mdl#5125 is the easiest to work with. All you have to do is have the proper program and cord from the phone to the serial port, and wahlah, ya just turn the timer off. Tracfone can't say anything because the scanners at checkouts can turn it off at times. It's not a clone. You buy a card for a yrs. membership, and just turn the timer off. No charges for roaming or going over your minutes, since it is already prepaid.
And the best place to find those phones is on ebay. Just make sure you read all about the phone you are bidding on.
Like I said Just an FYI

Does this still work? My teenage son is wanting a cellphone and this sounds like a plan.
