Got hit by the ECM last night. I have a 2700, running MC1, and 2.2.9 software. I was out this week so when I turned on the system there was an update waiting. I accepted the update and everything was fine for about an hour then got hit with the ECM (Loc ID = 0001)
I jtaged the box and erased SA5 3 times and restreamed w/o card in box. 2 hours later no update.
I jtaged again and erased SA5 6 times and put it back in the stream. Insterted my MC and confirmed signal and reset to auto update. Removed MC1 and left the system sit all night. Did not take the update over night.
I've done this a few times and think I"m doing it correctly by erasing SA5 3 times and restreaming. Anyone have any ideas why the 2700 would not restream? AM I missing a setting or step somewhere?
Thanks for any help.

I got hit last night, too, with a 2700. I erased SA5 3 or 4 times and put it back in the stream, but I put my Rom2 in the ird while it updated in the stream. It came on in about 5 minutes. I don't know if you're supposed to put the card in or not??? An answer please.

I dont think it really matters if you leave the card in or not. As whenever I get ECm'ed i Jtag the box erase the SA5 -3 times and turn the power off and let it sit there with the Sat feed connected for few mins. Usually 30mins- and hour. ANd it always work for me...
Hope this helps..

If ntn works for you ...try junk yard fix and it will surely work.
Remove the cover off the box and locate points SB39 and Sb40 and connect them through a insulated piece of wire.
REMEMBER do NOT have power plugged while you are connecting the points only the satellite feed should be hooked up.
Allright after you got the points connected through the wire have someone plug in the power for you. At this point you should see the green light flash for few seconds and than blink rapidly.
This when you should remove the wire and yur Box will self power off and on again. Give it a few mins and it come up to the SYS INFO screen. It might act a lil wierd but dont freak out.
Hope this helps....This was the only i was able to get my two 2700's and a 3900 to come back to life and was able to read them in Jkeys using the J-tag after it updated itself.

I finally got it to work. I pulled the box off the cable and re-jtaged again for a third time. Erased SA5 6 times and put it back in the stream. Restream started in seconds and was finished in 5 minutes.
Reprogrammed card with 2.2.10 MC 1 software and working 6 hours now.
Wierd how the resteam would not take until the 3rd try. Maybe SA5 was not completly erased the previous 2 cycles.
Thanks for the help
You might want to make a backup of your tsop now. That way you won't have to go through this again.
