2700 trouble

Can someone tell me how to put my 2700 receiver into boot mode?

I've got real trouble with 2 2700's. I have another post in bev/dish receiver discussions that would probably help you if you read what the other members told me to do. Its about 3/4 of the way down named "trouble with 2700". The last post said to make the receiver go into boot mode from link mode and i am not exactly sure on how to do that.

unplug ird
solder a wire from pad 1 on jtag pads to connect to a ground somewhere on the ird. the case works good.
plug in ird and it will stick in boot link mode.
