i just bought a 501 pvr dish is there any way i can erase a sector in the tsop and put it in the stream and change it to bev if so which sector will i have to erase.
or do i have to erase tsops and find new ones

Yes it is necessary. If he searches for the info on converting he will find that remarrying the drive is needed and how to do it.

Thats the easy part though if you ask me. Took me a month to convert my 510 and took 2 mins to remarry drive.

the hard drive is remarried using virgin firmware. once remarried you will either reflash to later firmware or update through stream to latest firmware.

do i reflash flash 1 or flash 2 also i reflashed 2 and have it running but no hadr drive i just get an error but im not sure how to get it going also im useing software dckd-n is that the only one i can use i never did anything to flash 1

come on guys lets be fair ok yes reading is needed sometimes letting someone know what they need to do will force them to do the reading to know more,

with that said you will need a virgin firmware usually a p063 and you will need to zero out the hard drive. also you need to erase both flashes, reflash flash 2 only and the eeprom, restream, drive should marry and then flash it up to where you need to be.hopefully you have DT chips and not GT.

Remarrying applies to a 501/508/510 PVRs and has been pretty thoroughly discussed.

The harddrive may or may not need zeroed, but I would just in case.

Erase flash U6 and reflash with the same U7 bin that you will write to U7, do U6 first then U7, then a virgin eeprom.

Worse thing you can do is to jump into one of these things without a clue as to what needs to be done, or how to do it. If you took a poll as to how many people here have a ruined PVR, you would be surprised, and I would be on that list.
