Hi guys, I just picked up another 301-013 to use with MC and it came with a couple of other receivers, a 2700 with no card and a 2300 with a ROM2 288-01 card. I hooked the 2300 up to the TV (NOT SAT) and it said it's a 3000. I have never used plastic for dish only with Dave. Can this be used? I read that I can't JTAG it. Don't I need the Box Keys to program the card? Just wondering, wanted to try something new. Thanks for any help.

If that is the original card for that receiver, you should be able to get the boxkeys and ird # off the card. If you don't have access to an eprom programmer to take advantage of that box's ability to be converted to DIP instead of TSOP, you better get a lock on it :)

Hi DrSagan
I'm sorry, converted to DIP??? Am I to understand that you don't use the TSOP on this receiver. What is DIP? Maybe you can point me in the direction of what I should be reading. I have a spare digital lock. I also have an old loader. Do you know if I can just change the crystal to 3.68 and use it? I remember reading something about that before. Thanks for your time.

On these boxes if you have an eeprom programer.............you can take the tsop out and put a regular "dual in-line package" (a eeprom chip with pins on two sides) and program your tsop program into them..............never tried it myself, but will someday

Do a search for tsop to dip conversion. If that doesn't work, pm me and I will get you the info. If you have an old h card programmer, the a simple crystal change should work. Good luck and read up on how to install that lock on your 3000(that's what it will be once the receiver updates)
