I picked up this 508 from a friend of mine. It was a victim of an ecm. Seems he decided to wipe out the tsop's without backing them up first (he watched me do the vidmod on it and program it; decided to try programming/fixing it himself). So I get this receiver completely blank. Fine. I'll just grab a new bin for it and load 'er up. No problem, right? Wrong.
I grabbed a DC3D P068 bin from the tsop bank (build matches MB cfg), loaded it up in flashedit, did the usual (crc fix, IRD & BK's). I fired up jkeys 301/508 (set to 508/5800) erased U6 and U7 three times each, loaded U7 first, erased U6 again, loaded U6, changed 7FFFFFAC in flash 2 to 0000, and loaded up a virgin eeprom created when I did the tsop bins. I plugged it in, and the IRD number comes up completely different than what I programmed in flashedit. Not only that, when I plug in the atmega it says that the card version isn't compatible. I went back in and double checked; the IRD number and BK's show up as programmed in flashedit and 7FFFFFAC is still 0000.
So I gave up on that load, and did the same process with another bin. Same result. IRD number is different, and it won't accept the atmega.
Am I doing something wrong here? Should I use a different version of Jkeys? I can't, for the life of me, figure out how come it won't show the IRD number that I loaded and keeps rejecting the atmega.
Thanks!
