Well it looks like im going to be switching over ti dishnet from bev. I bought a j-31 jtag for the top of my 3100 instead of underneith. Would I be able to program my IRd with that? also millis store has a 300dish in store. Would that be good enough to use for dishnet up here in canada?

Hi,

You should be able to use the J-31 Jtag to do the conversion. For a 301.010, just erase SA0 in flash 1.

As for the Dish, you should also be able to use the BEV dish. You'll have to repoint it, of course.

One big difference with Dish over BEV, is that you really need two LNB's if you want to catch all the channels. With BEV, most of the stuff is on 91. The channels on 82 are mostly ethnic channels and high-definition.

With Dish, most PPV is on 110, while a lot of the main channels are on 119.

Hope this helps,

Jon

Thanks! Well what I can do is buy the upgrade to my 18" bev dish for the second LNB and later on buy a second dish for bev when I get the cash. Im just waiting for the temperature to warm up before I go on the roof. Im anxous to try out dish net looks alot more challenging.

Oh one more question, after I realign the dish and erase sa01 in flash one do I just stream my IRD with the bev card or the atmega?

you erase sa3 or sa8 in flash one for a 3100 and then stream dish...takes close to 1/2 hour of streaming to flip a 3100....have never read about erasing sa1 until now...you can stream with card in or out....

I dont want to see you fuck your self up here!!!!

All you need to do is erase SA3, 3 times and put in the stream. Atmega in. Does'nt have to be, but I always do. Takes 10-15 min.

Make sure before you play with any SA addresses, you reaime your dish using the bell 3100. it will tell you wrong sat, 110 or 119. Then erase SA3 and your all good.

I would recomend 119, it has everything pretty much. then down the road add another LNB and a y adapter, might cost you 30 bucks. You wont need a second dish.

I did the switch. Since I was too much of a chicken to go up on the roof of my appartment building , a well equipped buddy of mine did it for me this eveing. It sure was easy to switch over. For now im running on sat119. Its pretty awsome compared to bell! More like kick a#s! Im getting the upgrade for my dish in one week from a bell teleboutiqe store. It seems to be the only place where I can get it without buying a hole dish. Every dealer ive called seems to be out, but im getting it from bev for 50$ with a switch. Thanks bev for improving my T.V experiance! Thanks for the help guys im sure we will be talkin in the future!

good call littlelarryjr...erase sa1??good lord!!...before reading your reply i started a thread asking if 110 and 119 come in with skewable hardware...sounds like it can be done...now the question is does the bev y adaptor suit?

thats sa0 in flash 1 for the 3100 or 301 works to convert bev to dish or vice versa you may have to run a check switch after bell yoke will work for dish 119 would be where 91 is and 110 would be 82 as they are marked on the yoke good luck

If you put a Y adapter on a dish300 so you can get the 110 and 119, how are you gonna skew it? Easier just to zip tie another lnb to the main lnb, that way you can adjust it up or down dpending on if you put it to the right or left of the main lnb. You would then be able to do the same fine tuning as you could with a dish that can skew. Otherwise you'd have to get your mast off level to the right angle and that's even harder.
