just got this refurbish laptop and it came loaded but winxp kept hanging up and crashed on me. I have no recovery cd for this laptop . I had to format the hard drive and need drivers for this unit. It is a AMD athlon 64 processor with ATI Radeon 9600 Graphics Controller video card. the audio driver is pc2001 compliant Ac97 audio. It has a wireless 802.11g wireless lan. The operation system is winxp. I will be installing winxp which I have a disk from my desktop. I will need drivers to get this laptop up and running again . Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance
google for Belarc advisor.
load it and run it on the emachine.
when the report comes bvack it will have a star for each of the drivers and the location.
copy all them drivers you will need to disk or network it to a shared fiolder on your wife's..lol
main thing is to get the model and serila number for the m/board so you will be sure and have the correct chipset to load back to it,
the rest you should be able to find on drivers.com or elsewhere.
thanks for the info fubr!
This is a great util and even better because it's free.
One of the first things I load when I trouble shoot a machine., All kinds of info.\
will even tell you the cd keys used to install you programs you have loaded.

Howdy Furb!! that program is great. I was told also to call emachines and they would send me the cd recovery for $20.00, which I did. Tried to install winxp back in but before it will finish the laptop goes into a rebooting mode and doesn't go back to where it left off at so I'm having trouble loading winxp direct. Was able to load winme but am having problems with the graphics. I think the Ati graphic that is on this laptop is for winxp only and it doesn't support the winme cd. Well you know with me it always has to be the long way around (HA HA), Hey thanks again for your help!!
