I would really like to get some help on this.
When I point my eliptical dish for sat 110 & 119,
do I have to have my sw21 hooked up or do I
find the sats one at a time using each lnb?
I have the proper coordinates from dishcumbia.
Is there a step-by-step guide on how to do this
so I get dish 500? Many thanks!

What is your Zip Code First?

you need to hook up the sw21 switch. then youcan set up and spot the first satellite. then slowly move the dish around and track the second satellite down.

thx everyone.... do u think this might be my prob :

the y adapter on the arm has slots for 3 lnb's....
1 is for 101
2 is for 110
3 is for 119

looks like this:

119 110 101

The slot in the middle (110) has a plastic piece in it so I put the lnb's in the 119 slot and 101 slot instead of the 119 and 110(middle) slot.....
Do you guys think this is what my problem might be????
Thanks!

for dish you need to put them in the 110 and the 119 slots.

i have an elliptical dish which gets 110 and 119 fine with a fortec but when i switch it to dish i cant do a check switch, when i get to the check switch menu it only has 'superdish' or 'alternate' to do a check switch on.... could there be a problem with my sw21 or sat 4x1 switch? can it be the lnb's? or software?... i am using a dish 301 unit ... many thanks.

I have a dish 500 legacy quad with a 508 dvr and a rom10. Every time I hook up an sw21 to get 61.5 I check switch it says 3 sat sw21 and shows all the odd evens for all three sats. Two hours later I lose my locals and everything goes just to the 61.5 sat. Am i doing something wrong here ?

Raytech you should use the sw21 for the dish301 unit. I don't think It will work with the fortech switch. In the check switch page don't click on superdish or alternate if they are checked. Bobg3, I'd mabey check your coax and end connectors. Sounds like you have everything hooked up right. I'd use rg-6 coax also if you aren't.
