Well today I went out and bought a ligit 3120 complete system. I havent had a sub in almost 4 years, them not knowing that the 3100 I kept. I told them years ago I got rid of it, its none of there buisness anyways, I payed for it. Well I hooked up the new 3100 and I called to get a sub. I give them my information and the man tells me that Im not allowed to buy a complete system. He says he cant activate a new IRD because I was an exsiting customer. What the hell is wrong with these poeople, they dont want my money? I love bells saying "making it simple" ya for who? certantly not for us. The only way its simple for me is an atmega! Any ideas on how to deal with these people?
Thanks
Mike

I hate bell not just expressvue but there phone system, mobile phone. They have the attitude, that, we are lucky that they provide a service for us. They have hidden fee's they add things to your account with out telling you, they change your plan on you, then bill you and wait to see if you complain. Then there is bell world and there is no where to turn too. The big line is they are a franchise and we have no control over them but I do I can go somewhere else.
Recently bell expressvue raised there rate by $3.00 because they are turning there attention towards profit not atracting new customers. It is a gamble but there survey said that customers will be stuped enough not to leave them and they will make tonnes of money. do not forget there is a $3.00 hidden fee ontop of the monthly expressvue plan this is not advertised in the price
They are making cable look good again

98vic next time you call bev to activate a legit ird to sub and they give you the crap about being a previous customer, tell the low level grunt to let you talk to a supervisor you will eventually get subed, they are greedy bastards and will want to take your money.

not true, Bell is being really sticky about subs. You can hook up your IRD, but not month to month. You will have to sign a contract. min 12 month. Even if you bought the system. Which you cant even buy over the counter anymore.
You have to sign a 12 month deal to be activated.

Yup, same old story. I'm just hoping that next fall we'll be able to sub to DTV or dish here in Canada (that is if there is no hack before then) then we'll see how many customers they lose.

You will never be able to sub to DTV or Charlie in Canada.
NEVER!!!!!!!
Do you honestly think the government/ or the CRTC doesnt have a hand in bells cookie jar? Or Star Choices? DTV and Charlie will never take the lid off for CRTC. Thats why you'll never get it here.

BULLSHIT!
I recently bought a new 2700 system from Ebay and I am month to month, NO CONTRACT.

Our a$$h0le Finance Minister (Ralph Goodale) is on the Board of Directors for Bell GlobalMedia of which ExpressVu is a subsiduary. How about that for a conflict of interest. No wonder the last Supreme Court decision when 7-0 in favour or Bell. Lots of money in the pockets of SC magistrates on that one!!!!!!!!

It is true If you phone them up, the people there will tell you that, to lock you in, they also tell you that the plan is $45.00 and you cannot get anything cheaper. The reason is the people you talk to make commision on selling you on the higher plan and locking you in. They will tell you anything to get there money.
The only way around it is to get an honest person or email bev and get the price from them and then when you phone in get the persons name and tell them Bev emailed you the price and ask to talk to a superviser or do like me and go elswhere
Bev created this situation and I hope the lose alot of customers because of it

Well I got a sub! I called bev in Toronto and pretty much told them if they didnt hook me up that I will send there system back and go with cable or starchoice. I never seen them activate sombody so fast. They came up with this stuff saying that skydish cant erase an old file out of the system , bla bla bla, and if I were to ever want to buy another complete system I would have to transfer the system that i have nowthrough bev to sombody else and not be a subscriber to bev for 6 months. Well on the plus side I got a 20cm dish to use with my other 3100 to recive both birds on dish net now! Thanks bev!
