Newsgroups

I have not used newsgroups in years but now that i have a hi speed connection i would like to download some movies, programs etc. Are newsgroups still the way to go or is there something better now that somebody knows of ? Either way, can someone tell me where to get free newsgroups or the new way to go about it?

USENET newsgroups are the way to go. It's safer and pretty much anything you'd want are available there. What has changed is that your ISP most likely won;t give you unlimited bandwidth anymore and you'll have to go to one of the pay sites. Figure on paying around $12-15 a month for unlimited use. Seeing how most movies run in excess of 800 MB each you can burn up some serious bandwidth in a hurry.
