My receiver has no video output anymore and the power light won't go off unless you pull the cord. I have a AR105c TSOP lock but I think my EEPROM got wiped anyway.

i had the same thing - my 4900 ird needed to take an update , so i switched off the lock let it take update and watched tv .

My IRD is a 4900 too. So you suggest I turn off the lock and plug it back in.

yup - turn off lock - plug in - go take a shower , jack off , whatever
picture should come on - turn on lock again .
