need a little help new to satellite hacking

hi, i need a little help getting myself started on hacking a bell expressvu receiver model 3100, im new to this and dont know where to begin. i've spend hours now looking on the net for information, but its all too vague and isn't really telling me anything. the only thing ive found so far was how to make a jtag cable. what else do i need to know?

Of course with a bell ird, a second 18" dish, a SW-21 switch you can tap Charlie for a while more still.

you will also need jkeys 2.9.10 or newer( Jtag software that allows you to dump or program flash chips. This should work with just about any device that uses an ST-20 based processor. (sti-5500, sti5505, sti5510, sti5518, ect)
