I don't know too much about coding. But all this hype about MC auto roll, it just doesn't work. My Atmega keeps on rolling without a glitch while everyone running with MC needs to reprogram the updated parity keys. Whose got the Magic???
my 2 cents

There is no need to rub it in.....
Everyone knows that Atmega is cheaper & auto rolls and Magic doesn't ....
Weren't you once a Magic admirer / user ...?
and FYI some Atmega with the wrong cap won't auto roll either....

The magic rolls the channel changes not the key changes.
The ATMega rolls the key changes not the channel changes.
Neither one rolls PARTIY changes.

With Nagra2 comming down the pike it hardly pays to change at this point. Atmega or MC..still programming alot less than when I was watching Dave.

So what whould you guys suggest I buy Atmega or Magic card. Right now I'm using plastic - rom 2 and 3 but am interested in testing other hardware. Thanks.

Rom cards are more for advanced testers, they are the best way to test, but atmega is really good, atmega fix's are free, no bullshit $25 fee like magic card, atmega is a more stable device, less problems all around

I am still going strong after over 6 weeeks with my 3 AMGEGA 18 Mhz Dual mode cards. During that time I have had to just reset (unplug) the rec. once. No reprograming just watch FREE TV everything is wide open! But I have to say I miss all the BS of reprograming my old MC1 cards! NOT!!! But sometimes I get bored so I pull out my MC1 out of my old plastic recycle bin and just as I start to reprogram the old MC1 I stop and laugh and I go back to watching FREE TV thanks to my ATMEGA!!!!
With an ATMEGA CARD Life is GOOD!!!!!!!!!!
