what is this thing

someone gave me 2 big receivers that have a satellite in, a picture of a computer with a data port and a multi media port, 2 sets of audio output jacks, antenna in, cable in and out to tv. these of course are on the back.

the front has: a digital window in the middle and has
signal
sat/tv
timer
written beside the window. there is an up,down,left and right arrow push button with an enter button in the middle of them. then there is a view,guide,go back,menu and a power button.

the name is next level digital entertainment receiver
model: DSR-410 DNA

If anyone knows what these are please let me know. They dont say dishnet,bell,starchoice,direct or free to air on them anywhere.

they are dish 3500 or 3000 they are called grey boxes

thanks for the reply lips905 but are you sure because there is no card slot. However it has a pull out in the front but it looks like some kind of computer hook up. then again the box is grey. well what ever it is im sure its trash.

maybe they were running emulation on it.Or check the back see if there is a card slot the dishplayers have a card slot in the back.I could be wrong though.Try hocking one up to a tv and see what kind of menu it has

on the sat in what does it say beside it as far as a logo or volatge something like 13/18v or soem kind of logo..
it is a starchoice system

well i turned it on and there is absolutely nothing that says what satellite service it is for.
when i pushed menu i got this:

Options
Exit

when i click guide i get info not available.
when i click Interests i get
1. all programs
2.favorites A
3. " " B
4." " c
5." " d

when i click on Options i get
1.open your mail
2.set guide and favorites
3.set parental control
4. set timers
5.list purchases
6.change system settings

when i click on list purchases, whoever owned this thing loved his porn. which makes me think maybe these receivers are direct tv. I never tested direct but didnt they keep track of what you ordered. The last purchase was made in 2001.

starchoice has a dsr-410 and so does motorola but none of them look even close to this one. I tried google and ebay no luck. I searched the model number dsr-410 and the make which is next level. Ive never heard of next level before.

Ok i figured it out these are called look tv digital boxes. Its some canadian company.
