rom2 BD password changing

Trying to program a rom2.. right now the back door password keeps changing..part of the time it's all f's and part of the time it's changed to a number other than the oringal, it does say the back door is appears open though.l

I posted a good rom2 image a while back and there are likely some other good images available in the downloads. Why don't you try writing a known good image to the rom. Sometimes rom2's just get a little funk going and you have to overwrite them. The E-DES keys will not be up to date though. You may have to wait 15 minutes for the stream to update them on your rom2.

Thanks for the reply JT, I got a clean image wrote to the card althuogh I still get a error once in awhile trying to read the card.. I just rewrote the clean image back to the card again...Is there anything else I should do with the card?...I already looped this card awhile back, and trying to be careful with it this time.

Just make sure you have some good tiers on the card and stick it in an IRD and see if it works. There is also a rom2cln image in the downloads that you can write to your card. This is how you 'clean' a rom2, you just write a known clean .bin. Never use the clean function in Nagra on a rom2.

Oh yeah, what version of Nagra you using. I seem to have the best luck with Nagra1.1 or 2.0 with rom2...although most people say it doesn't make any difference.

Thanks for the post JT... I'm using Nagra1 with my rom2....Got it up and going now, although we just took a hit on the reciever

Which serious error?....153? rom2 cam id's can be kind of tough to come by. Your ppv strings in range?

not sure now what error number was, got it back up and going again, took the ppv's off...got a good cam id to share??

Just took another hit with the rom2..it was error 153

I'm trying to change the cam ID, and getting error 015..is there something to changing the ID besides just in the program?

Let me clarify that I'm useing Excel3 and and where it says camID I'm putting in the ID that I want to use, is there a way to "clean" the old cam id off?

There is a newer version of excel (v3.6), but that shouldn't be your problem. You have to make your new image with the new cam id with excel, then write it with Nagra. You can write with excel, but it's safer to write with Nagra.
