msn hotmail

i'm running winxp professional which has yet to be updated to xp sp2. everytime i try to visit the hotmail page to check my mail, the page never opens or i get some type of memory error. does this has anything to do with the absence of sp2? or wany ideas what could be causing the problem? I even reinstalled xp and the same problem persists.

try going to msn and find the hotlink to hotmail. Maybe delete your temp internet files. maybe click on Tools, Internet options, go through and set all the tab settings to default. Turn off your firewall temperarily to see if that works.

thanks for the suggestions wasup but i've just reloaded win xp and all settings are at default. also my isp requires that the firewall remains off permanently, so that's not the problem. this has me totally confused maybe i need to check with msn support on this one.

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM!

un-install all versions of hotmail messinger programs on your computer!!!!. If you use messinger reload the ver6.2 from MSN If you don't use messinger don't bother reloading.

Thes issue is both your hotmail account and messinger programs try to access the website at the same time and can cause an error or simply just lock up your browser.

you might want to try Mozilla Foxfire ver1.01 for your internet browser, I will never use IE6 again, so slow!
