clone subbed 3100 to 5100??

:) I have a 3100 with rom 102 paid sub , I also have a new 5100 with no card
I called the provider and asked for a card 1st they asid $5 OK when i went to get it they want $100 (get lost ) Can I edit my 3100 box keys and IRD # into my
new 5100 and use the subbed 102 card ?? ( reason being if only N2 running in the stream I would at least like to use my 5100 without giving them $100)

Tell them to cancel the 3100 and move the card to the 5100. You can't just change the boxkeys and IRD#. Yellow card doesn't work that way.

Does anyone know why the yellow card doesn't work that way? I have been using a rom 10 in my 5900 for while and I just got my "new" cards. I tried to get the new card to work in the 5900 when it is supposed to be in a 3100. I can't just get them to switch the card to the 5900 cause bev wpn't do that. (especially seeing as the receiver is originally dish)

Anyone got any ideas on why the yellow cards (or blue in my case) won't switch between receivers that have their boxkeys and ird # changed?

Try changing the board type on the 5900. You might need to change some other things to make it work. But I don't know yet.

So what do I need to start looking for the answer? Disassembler? This will be new for me but willing to try it.

They don't want to help you , it is an original dish 501 .I got a new
blue card and they would not let me use it for the 501 . So is there no way to clone It ( I have a virgin card ) I want to use only one IRD (5100) and retire 3100

The IRD's hve two numbers the R000 and the Box Key

It does not matter what numbers are as long as they are valid numbers.

I flashedit the .bin on each one to the same R00 & Box numbers as my original IRD, some are 301.10 some are 2800, some are 4900 IRD's

I put these same numbers on the magic cards.

Now this way I can use ANY magic Card I have in ANY IRD I have, as far as the card and IRD know they are all the same IRD and card

I don't see any reason a plastic card would know the difference any more than a magic card knows the difference. Just make sure you edit the 5100 flashes to be the same as the Cards (3100) numbers.

DON'T try to use the 3100 flash in the 5100.

i have tried it in my 5900 with 3100 box keys and it didn't work
