Programmed a rom 2 for a 2700 w/dish 500 and I'm getting the nag 005. I put in the keys myself...D5 6F BB 83 00 D8 B0 4E....C1 E0 C4 E8 FF 86 50 41...I ran the check switch again just to be sure, the card has been in the reciever for over a hour, thought that they are suppose up-date by them self...Any thing else I need to do?? ...Also tried a rom 3 with the same results..

The keys are right.

If you are talking about a magic card they will roll the keys but if you put the new keys in the right place in the ini it should have come right on, no need to update the right keys.

If you are talking about plastic it should be working since the keys are right.
Do you have ablack screen or what, you did not say.

Thanks for responding SJ..Yes I'm getting a black screen, I can get the program guide up and a couple channels, 100 and a couple others free type channels...I left the rom2 in for bout 4 hours and the rom 3 in all night, no blocker on either.

Check ALL the keys! Parity and public.

Use NagraEdit and look at the Data Editor.

Some body correct me if I am wrong but isn't the 2700 flash a BEV flash ?

I have a 2700 / 2800 and had to put a 2800 flash in it to get dish network.

Missed that before.

2700=2800=3700

They should all read as a 2800 now days if your running Charlie. I'm pretty sure this is true for Bev too. Could be wrong about the Bev part of it. I've never run anything other than a 3100 for Bev.

The last I heard 2700 was a BEV flash, 2800 was a Dish flash, Mine was BEV when I got it and I had to change to a 2800 to get dish.

Don't know about the 3700 but I thinks that is the same. 3700/3800

I've had this reciever up before with the rom 2 , so it was probly a mistake by me calling it a 2700...And I'm sure now that it was a 2800 when I usad Jkeys on it..

No matter what the plate on the back says, the flash tells you how it is programmed. !

2800 is a Dish flash

No, isn't working yet SJ...I did have it up and running before with the rom2,top 180 PPv. and HBO , MAX, ect. , but took a hit and redone the reciever [SA5] and redone the rom2 with just top 180 and HBO and Max.

Ok guys, I started over from scratch with the rom2 and found that I either forgot to put in the boxkeys or they didn't write in Xcel or going from Nagraedit1 to the rom2...The 005 nag led me to believe the keys were wrong or wouldn't roll.....Thanks for the posting and trying to help me out..clark

Good, we all screw up sometimes, reminds me of the time I left the spaces in the numbers, and could not figure out why they all would not fit in the box. he he he

2700,2800,3700 are all the same. 3800=3900. My 3700 now reads 2800.

Software upgrade they call it, changes it from Bev to Dish
