Remote Control Refuses to Work

I have a 3900 series reciever I bought off of E-Bay. I've been able to get it up and running despiute many problems and set backs, but now the remote control I got with the reciever doesn't work. Its the "blue buttoned" typed of remote. I'm using fresh batteries and it is set to satellite control, the SAT button lights up. Yet my reciever does not respond to it. I know its not the reciever, I have an RCA multi-remote which I set to Echostar mode and it works fine but using the menu is a pain because I can't scroll by pages. Since I don't have the instruction manual, is there something I'm missing as I haven't done any setup with the remote?

Remote address is prolly wrong on the remote, set it to what ever shows on the system info screen, since the universal remote works, prolly should be set to 1.

Here's how to change the address on the remote.

1) Press System Info Button, hold down satellite button until tv/vcr/auz buttons light up at the same time then release the SAT button.

(2) Press another number other than 1 (factory default). [ In your case choose 1 ]

(3) After you do that press the pound button (#).

(4) Press the record button.
