Was getting ffff/ffff errors in Jkeys, changed def from 2250 to ffff, got in, managed to reflash with backups, but when read still get ffff (instead of 2250). Jkeys is still showing F's for box keys and y's for everything else. Trying to write a p80 bin for 508 build DFH*, marry hd and stream to take update. Any suggestions? Thanks.

i am using plastic and magic atmega dont work
Sorry for the confusion thsatman4u. I was responding to djstugots post. In your case, don't take the update unless something isn't working properly with your reception. If you not missing any channels or having any other probs, wait to take the update.

I installed Jtag, did vidmod (4 wire 2 cut) with OJ1 on DPDT switch and installed AR105C lock.

Double check your vid mod and voltages. It sounds like your vid mod is not working properly.

Need to verify your chip type, I have seem 320DT chips in a 510, which would be 0x22F6 type, 0x2250 is for the 323GT chips.......
(That is 320DT not 323DT which don't require modding......)

Skinerd, the chips are in fact AM29LV320DT's, but the default flash for 508 in jkeys is 323. Do I need to change in def file to 320DT for 508? I am able to read and write to flash, but in base address I get FFFF and not 2246 or 2250. I Also, my Ird info is all F's and Y's, no power light and fan running.

My mistake above, the AMD 320DT chip is 22F6.
Don't worry about the default flash type, flash programming is what picks the correct one, by sending a request to the chips for their identifier, it they return FFFF, then you need the correct flash type edited to accept FFFF as the identifier code.
So if you still get FFFF as flash type, edit the 22F6 to FFFF and then do all your reflashing.
Just erase U6, then erase U7 and reflash u7, add a virgin eeprom.
Make sure the flash you write is a "moved ird info" type, that is it opens correctly in flash edit under the "moved ird info" setting.
If you have MSN or Yahoo messenger, PM me your info..if you want live help, this morning I am not too busy.....

Just a quick thought, as I am backtracking my modifications to the 510, it occurred to me that for wire A, I connected at R325 but there was no R331. Do I need to make a jumper across the R331 pads to complete the circuit?

Sounds like your mod is ok, the lock install is what I would be concerned with.....but it seems ok.......may just be the flash you are writing to it....

I double checked trace cuts, contacts and for anything shorting out. Funny thing is, I started Jkeys with vid mod switch off and it let me in to flash programming. So I thought maybe I am getting a constant 12 V to pin 12 (wire c). I checked b and c connection and they are connected when vid mod off, disconnected when vid mod on. Confirmed 12 v to wire C when vid mod on. I found a DFJA public dump (Rxxxxxxxxxx-23AB-DFJA-10S-P080-U7.bin) in public files, opened in flash edit under moved ird info, put in box keys and IRD, checked ERC box, saved and opened again under moved ird info, data was good. Created virgin eeprom using build DFJA from bin file. Wrote above file to both U6 and U7, wrote virgin eeprom, switched off vid mod. All I get is fan running, no lights. By the way, I don't have the HD installed, but this shouldnt matter, right (i was getting lights before w/o HD) ?
